Our tour guide took us to a really quiet, uncrowded part of the cave that's separate from the touristy part. We all sat on benches around the cave. I put my hand on the ancient wall, cold to the touch. We sang Silent Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and What Child is This?. Voices mixed beautifully, echoing in harmony on the cave walls. We sang Christmas songs... in the very cave where Jesus was born.* I can't even take that in. I'll never sing those songs the same way.
